District Election Observer Champalal discuss poll arrangements with the officials
Nalgonda: District Election Observer Champalal directed the officials concerned to take all necessary measures to conduct ZPTC and MPTC elections successfully.
On Tuesday, along with District Collector Gaurav Uppal, he participated in a review meeting held with nodal officers, RDOs and DSPs at the Collectorate meeting hall.
Even though officials got enough experience with Assembly, gram panchayat and Parliament elections, they need to be alert and complete the ZPTC and MPTC elections without any remark, he said.
He advised to implement model code of conduct effectively as filing of nominations in area of first phase of elections was going to conclude on Wednesday.
He directed the officials to constitute model code teams, flying squads, videographers, expenditure controlling and SST teams and assign the election work.
He further directed to establish control rooms at RDO and MPDO offices to receive complaints from the people and political parties.
Stating that complaints of violation of model code of conduct could be lodged with nodal officers, he instructed officials to clear all grievances pertaining to elections within 24 hours of receiving them.
He directed the officials to provide required ballot boxes and polling material as per the strength of voters, appoint zonal and root officials immediately.
He also asked them to provide proper training to polling staff and make necessary arrangements for casting their votes.
He directed the police to identify sensitive areas and take necessary security measures to avoid pre-poll, poll-day and post-poll violence. He further directed police officials to arrange check posts to avoid money and liquor flow during the elections period. District Collector Gaurav Uppal explained the ZPTC and MPTC elections arrangements through power point presentation and informed that elections would be conducted in three phases for 31 ZPTCs and 349 MPTCs in the district.
In this meeting, DRO Ravindranath, ZP CEO Veera Brahamma Chary, Nodal Officer (training) Raj Kumar, election expenditure controlling official Srinivas Babu, RDOs Jagadish Reddy, Jagannath Rao, Lingya Naik, Nalgonda DSP Ganga Ram and others attended.
