Hyderabad: Telangana Agriculture Minister S Niranjan Reddy took exception to the comments made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against Telangana stating that the statements made in Rajya Sabha were insult to martyrs of Telangana and shows foolishness of the prime minister.

Responding to the comments of Prime Minister Modi in Rajya Sabha, Niranjan Reddy said that Telangana was formed without any discussion and after closing doors of Parliament, was nothing but insulting the Telangana martyrs. He said that Prime Minister Modi's comments show his foolishness and ignorance of Telangana agitation.

"Earlier also the prime minister talked ignorantly stating that mother was killed to save the child. Even now his comments prove his foolishness," said Niranjan.

The minister recalled that Telangana agitation was for 60 years and because of this agitation Mulki rules were framed, GO 610 was released, Pranab Mukharjee committee was formed and Justice Sri Krishna Committee was constituted, which took opinions of people.

Congress played delayed tactics and denied separate State and national parties had no option but to support Telangana, said minister.

Minister V Srinivas Goud also lashed out at the prime minister for his comments. Goud said that Rajya Sabha was not the forum for politics. The Telangana BJP leaders should apologise for the comments of the prime minister, demanded Goud.
