Marking the festival of Sri Rama Navami, a colourful procession began in Hyderabad on Sunday morning from Rani Avantibai temple in Sitaram Bagh.

The procession which is being carried out till Hanuman Vyamshala in Sultan Bazaar will see lakhs of people offering prayers to the gaiety including the members of Sri Rama Utsav Samiti, Bajrang Dal leaders and people representatives. The procession will pass through Puranapool, Gowliguda, Sultan Bazar.

The police have arranged tight security to prevent any untoward incidents during the procession. Around 5000 policemen have been deployed for the bandobast. The police have installed around CCTVs on the entire procession route.

The police team which include three DCPs, four DSPs, 28 inspectors, 38 sub-inspectors, 45 head constables, 86 constables, 13 additional platoon forces, two tear gas squads were deployed for the bandobast led by Additional Commissioner Shikha Goel.
