Narketpally (Nalgonda): Theft took place in a Hyderabad-bound RTC bus when passengers got down to have breakfast at Pujitha Hotel on the outskirts of Narketpally in the district on Thursday.

According to victim M Sanjeeva Reddy of Mathakka village of Mangalagiri mandal of Guntur district of Andhra Pradesh, the Hyderabad-bound RTC bus started in Vijayawada at 5 am and halted at Pujitha Hotel for breakfast.

All the passengers got down to have the breakfast. However, when Sanjeeva Reddy returned to the bus, he found his bag open that was kept near another seat in the same bus. After searching the bag, he found that someone had stolen Rs 10 lakh from his bag. Shocked victim informed the same to the local SI Vijay Kumar and lodged a complaint.

Reddy informed that after theft one of the passengers who boarded in Vijayawada was found disappeared. Everything happened in a span of five minutes, he added.

Based on victim's complaint, the Narketpally police registered a case and initiated the probe.
