Hyderabad: The TSRTC bus, which was stolen from the Central Bus Station (CBS) on Tuesday night, was found dismantled in a shed at Nanded in Maharashtra on Thursday.

The Afzalgunj police, which registered the case of missing bus from Gowliguda Bus Station on Tuesday night, reached Nanded town and found the bus dismantled and its pieces piled into a heap in a shed.

According to the police, miscreants had removed seats in the bus, and it was about to be crushed in the shed. The miscreants, who had stolen the bus, fled on seeing the police personnel at the shed. The police took the person, who was about to tear the bus into pieces, was taken into custody.

A Metro Express bus of TSRTC which belonged to Kushaiguda depot on route No. 3D Ambedkar Nagar to Afzalgunj was parked at CBS on Tuesday at 11.15 pm. The depot personnel were shocked to see the bus missing on Wednesday.

Transport Minister V Prashanth Reddy directed the officials to take action against those responsible for negligence.

The Minister asked city Police Commissioner to check the CCTV footage at toll plazas. He also asked the officials to increase security at all the bus station.

The driver of the bus, who also went along with the police personnel, identified the bus at the shed. By the time they reached the shed, the miscreants removed seats, and other parts.

This is not the first time when a bus was stolen from the depot. Earlier, buses were stolen from the depots on two occasions. According to sources, earlier a bus was stolen from Parigi and Shadnagar depot.
