‘Strict action against traders charging excessive prices’

Addl Collector B Chennayya
Nagarkurnool: Additional Collector B Chennayya has directed rice traders across the district to sell rice only at the maximum prices fixed by the state government, warning that strict action will be taken against those violating the prescribed rates.
In a press statement issued on Sunday, he stated that the maximum retail prices were finalised during a meeting between the Telangana Civil Supplies Commissioner and representatives of the State Rice Millers’ Association. As per the government-fixed rates, Telangana BPT rice must be sold at Rs 66 per kg, Sona rice at Rs74 per kg and Sriram Gold rice at Rs79 per kg.
He instructed rice millers, traders, wholesale dealers and retailers to strictly follow the prescribed prices. Officials will conduct inspections, and strict action will be taken against those found charging more than the fixed rates. He urged traders to cooperate with the district administration to ensure quality rice is available to consumers at fair prices.
