Cherla (Kothagudem): Taliperu minor irrigation project built across Taliperu stream in Cherla mandal in the district is receiving huge inflows in the wake of copious rains in its upper catchment area.

According to official sources, the present water level in the reservoir with gross storage capacity of 730.00mcft is 73.64m. The project full water level is 74m.

The officials have lifted two gates discharging 2,121 cusecs of water into the project's left and right canals on Saturday. The inflow is said to be 2,032 cusecs.

The project provides irrigation to nearly 15,000 acres in the area.
