TDP will win maximum seats in ZP polls: Ambati Reddy

Karimnagar: The Telelugu Desham Party (TDP) is going to be a powerful deciding factor in the upcoming ZPTC and MPTC elections, said TDP district president Ambati Joji Reddy here on Friday.

Addressing a press meet, Ambati Joji Reddy said that TDP is going to contest Zilla Parishad elections alone with perfect planning to build confidence among the cadre.

The second rung leaders of TDP were disappointed when the party decided not to contest in Parliament elections but are determined and exerting pressure on the leadership to face the Zilla Parishad elections alone as the party has strong cadre at grassroot level.

Many of them are coming to the party office with applications showing interest to contest in the elections. The party received about 80 applications for MPTC seats and 15 for ZPTC seats till date.

Fearing that the people will question the leaders of ruling TRS party, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao is going for ZP polls before the declaration of Lok Sabha election results. As the elections will be held through ballot paper system, CM KCR and TRS leaders are going to witness the anti incumbency wave this time, he said.

Therefore, TDP is going to give tough fight to other parties including ruling TRS and win maximum number of seats in the ensuing Zilla Parishad elections, he added. He demanded the government to withdraw the cases that were slapped illegally against the journalists in Jagitial district and said that TDP will support them until they get justice.

The TDP leaders K Agaiah, A Venkataiah, B Karunakar Reddy, N Bala Gaud, S Rajesham, V Srinivas Reddy, L Bhaskar, Ahmed Baba, A Ravinder, N Vani, A Kanthaiah and A Vineeth were present on the occasion.
