Telangana has recorded a remarkable surge in exports under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, said Dr. Rekha Boyalapalli, Vice President of Telangana Pradesh Mahila Congress.

According to the Handbook of Statistics on Indian States – 2024–25 released by the Reserve Bank of India, the state’s exports rose from $14,026 million in 2023–24 to $19,123 million in 2024–25, registering an impressive growth of nearly 36 per cent within a single year. With this achievement, Telangana has secured the 7th position among the top exporting states in India, marking a significant milestone in its economic journey.

Dr Rekha Boyalapalli stated that the Information Technology and Pharmaceutical sectors have been the key drivers of this growth. Telangana continues to lead in the export of drug formulations, bulk drugs, Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs), along with software products and IT services.

She noted that Hyderabad’s globally recognized pharma clusters and IT hubs have emerged as the backbone of the state’s economic expansion. In addition, engineering goods, chemicals, aerospace equipment, and agricultural products such as seeds, rice, and cotton are also contributing to the export momentum, ensuring diversified and sustainable growth.

While Gujarat remains the leading exporting state in the country, Telangana is rapidly strengthening its position among the top performers. Dr. Rekha Boyalapalli emphasized that proactive governance, industry-friendly policies, and strong investment promotion under CM Revanth Reddy have driven this success. She expressed confidence that with continued focus and momentum, Telangana is poised to rise further and establish itself as one of India’s leading export powerhouses.
