Telangana govt. releases salaries of TSRTC employees during strike period
The Telangana government on Wednesday has issued orders to release the salaries of TSRTC employees during the 47-day strike period.
The Telangana government on Wednesday has issued orders to release TSRTC employee's salaries during the 47-day strike period. Around Rs 235 crore has been released to pay salaries to the employees.
The TSRTC employees with a list of demands began the strike on October 5 and ended after 47-days when the government insisted that their demands are fulfilled. Five RTC employees committed suicide and five others died of other tensions during the strike-period.
After the strike, the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has hiked the bus fare. The minimum bus fare was hiked to Rs 10 while the prices of the metro, deluxe were increased depending upon the distance travelled.
In the budget 2020-21, the government has allocated Rs 1000 crore for TSRTC and also enhanced the retirement age to 60 years.
