Hyderabad: Telangana State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB) issued notice to Vishu Chemicals located at Gaddapotharam in the outskirts of the city, to clear the dangerous waste causing pollution. The land area where the industry dumps its wastes is seen with two lakh tonnes chromium lying around it. Vishu Chemicals is a manufacturer company of basic chromium sulphate, sodium-di-chromate and yellow sodium sulphate.

The industry has been asked to shift the wastes from sire to the centralized Treatment Storage and Disposal Facility (TSDF). Following the complaint lodged by P Damodar Reddy to the pollution board task force, PCB ordered for the immediate shifting of the chemical sludge to TSDF.

In its order, TSPCB mentioned, "The industry shall lift the hazardous waste stored in the secured off-site landfill to TSDF. The industry shall furnish action plant with specific timelines to lift the hazardous waste to TSDF in 15 days."

Locals also demanded Vishnu Chemicals to move the chromium wastes from the site in order to prevent health issues.
