Hyderabad: In a tragic incident, a woman set herself ablaze after she was allegedly harassed by her neighbour under Hayathnagar police station limits. The victim was identified as K Prashanthi (24) who was residing with her husband at Pavangiri Colony in Hayathnagar. The couple worked as construction labourers.
According to police, on Saturday night, when she was alone at house, her neighbour identified as K Naresh knocked on the door and tried to enter her room forcibly.
She immediately informed her house owner about the incident and requested that he take action against Naresh.
After some time, she doused herself in kerosene and set herself ablaze. Her family members and locals rushed her to Gandhi Hospital for emergency treatment.
While undergoing treatment the victim succumbed to injuries on Sunday. Based on the complaint lodged by the victim's father, police registered a case under section 306 of IPC and arrested Naresh and took up investigation.Woman sets herself on fire
