Road mishaps take heavy toll of youth

Addressing the Mega Mela, Bhimavaram Regional Transport Officer (RTO) J Ramesh Kumar said that most of the accidents occur due to the lack of proper driving skills.
Many victims were students. "In view of the accident rate that involved youth and students, the District Transport Authority Deputy Director, SS Murthy decided to conduct the awareness programme on driving and traffic rules for the benefit of the college students," he added.
Later, he along with governing body president Gokaraju Venkata Narasimharaju gave away the LLRs to the students.
Senior Motor Vehicle Inspector G R Ravindranath and Assistant Motor Vehicle Inspector DV Ramana explained traffic rules to the students.
DNR College vice-president Kunaparaju Ramakrishnamraju, Chekuri Srinivasa Raju (Bose Raju), principal U Rangaraju, DNR Degree College principal P Ramakrishnamraju attended the event.
