Amaravati: 22L candidates to appear for written exams at 5,114 centres
1. No. of posts to be filled up is 1,26,728.
2. Exams will be held from Sept 1 to 7.
3. Each village, ward secretariat to have at least 11 to 12 employees.
4. The State govt intends to deliver 35 services to citizens through the secretariats.
Amaravati: Minister for Panchayat Raj, Rural Development and Mining Peddireddy Ramachandra Reddy said on Tuesday that the government has made all arrangements to conduct written exams at 5,114 centres across the State in a transparent and fair manner to fill up posts in village, ward secretariats.
He suggested to the applicants to test their fate in the written exams and not to trust any mischief mongers.
At least 22 lakh candidates have been competing for the 1,26,728 vacancies announced in the notification, for which the exams are to be conducted from September 1 to 7.
Printing and transportation of OMR sheets has been completed. The exam papers also will be sent to the district
headquarters. The government has identified 1,174 routes for transportation of the exam papers to the exam centres and one gazetted officer has been appointed in-charge for each route.
He said that at least 11 to 12 employees will be provided for each VS or WS. There will be 11,158 village secretariats and 3,786 ward secretariats functional from October 2 onwards, he added. The secretariats will deliver 35 services to the citizens.
Interacting with District Collectors and SPs over a video-conference, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy suggested to them to ensure proper arrangements to conduct the exams. There should not be any violations or law and order problems, he added.
Meanwhile, Gopalakrishna Dwivedi, Principal Secretary, Panchayat Raj and Rural Development department, on Tuesday said that the government will take serious action against the mischief mongers.
In a tweet, he said that, "All the candidates are requested not to believe any kind of rumours. VS/WS exams are going to be conducted in a totally fair manner. Selections will be strictly on merit. No scope for any kind of irregularities. We are informing the police to take action against mischief-mongers."
