Amaravati: Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy will undertake a review of the village and ward secretariats in the State in August. This would be the first direct interaction of the Chief Minister after assuming power in the State last year.

"I must not come across a single complaint and not even a single hand should rise in my meetings saying that they did not get the benefit of the scheme though they were eligible," he said. Jagan cautioned the officials that if any genuine applicant was left out, he would take the officials concerned to task.

At a Cabinet meeting here on Thursday, after reviewing the work of the secretariats, the Chief Minister said he would not tolerate nepotism of any kind in serving the people. Transparency should dominate every wing of governance and the village and ward secretariats must reflect the same. There should be no place for corruption," he said.

Warning the staff of the secretariats against any inefficiency in extending the benefits to the people, he said every application for every benefit must be evaluated properly and no application should be rejected on frivolous grounds.

The Chief Minister said he would hold the officials concerned responsible for any lapses while insisting that pensions, house sites, Aryogyasri and ration cards should reach all deserving people.
