Anantapur: Stadium helps govt school students to get training from coaches

Anantapur: The indoor stadium in city is a place to watch every day in the evening as a number of government school students are seen trained by coaches in multiple sports activities. It is a scene to watch primary and high school students play with all excitement. The stadium contains facilities like indoor stadium, pavilion building, shopping complex and play fields for basketball, volleyball, lawn tennis, kabaddi, kho-kho, cricket and 200 metre athletic track. The facilities at the indoor stadium of the District Sports Authority have been a boon to the local children particularly those in government schools where children are talented but lack encouragement. Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) had built rural sports stadiums for encouraging several sportsmen and women.

District Sports Development Officer Jaganath Reddy told The Hans India that youngsters in rural schools and colleges are highly talented and energetic. One can see young boys and girls playing cricket without sports kits.

Rural Development Trust (RDT) is also playing a crucial role in the promotion of sports in schools and colleges. The local RDT stadium has excellent facilities and coaches. It is extending sports tools free of cost to the poor and needy students. The Sports Authority of Andhra Pradesh (SAAP) had built rural stadiums at Kalyandurg, Singanamala, Raptadu, Penukonda, Narpala and Ramagiri. SAAP is also on the job of training talented players and grooming them for future Olympics.
