Anantapur: In a shocking incident, a woman tried to commit suicide by slitting her throat after being distressed upon that her husband had cheated on her. The incident took place at Dharmavaram in Anantapur district on Wednesday.
According to the police preliminary investigation, Anjali (25) of Guttakindapalli in Dharmavaram was married to a driver named Purushotham. He reportedly left her after a second marriage.
Deeply upset by the incident, she on Wednesday cut her throat with a blade in front of everyone. She had severe bleeding however police who intercepted her immediately rushed her to the hospital and saved her life. Police have registered a case and are investigating.
