The Special Leave Petition was filed in the Supreme Court against the High Court orders, which cancelled the GO. The Supreme Court is expected to hear the petition on Thursday.

The High Court has ordered the Andhra Pradesh government not to paint political party colours to party offices and was outraged that the government had not complied with the directives and cancelled GO 623. The Chief Secretary and the Panchayat Secretary have been asked to give an explanation within 28 months lest it warned of contempt of court case.

The government, which has thought to follow the High Court's verdict of removing party colours on buildings have finally decided to move Supreme Court. It remains to be seen, how the Supreme Court would respond on the petition.
