Andhra Pradesh - Korea to cooperate in education
The Korean Delegation agreed to open a centre in Korea for Andhra Pradesh and also to establish a Korean technical institute in the State.
Amaravati: The Korean Delegation agreed to open a centre in Korea for Andhra Pradesh and also to establish a Korean technical institute in the State.
The Minister for Education Adimulapu Suresh explained that "We discussed on partnership in training in BlockChain Technology and on using Korean methods for the skill development and training of teachers. The government would start new educational programs with South Korean collaboration".
He addressed the press conference after interacting with the delegation, at the secretariat on Friday.
A delegation of 60 members from South Korea is visiting Andhra Pradesh. Among them, a delegation of 18 met with the minister and other officials of the department.
They discussed the prospects of mutual cooperation between AP and South Korea in school, higher, technical education.
Suresh said that "The South Korean Delegation is interested in education, IT, health, agriculture, fisheries, horticulture, industries and other issues. In education, Korea is ready to provide skill development in higher education. It is primarily accepted for constituting a centre in Korea particularly for AP and a Korean Technical Institute in Andhra Pradesh. Korea will be partnering in providing training in Blockchain Technology. The state government will bring radical changes in the state education system, will start new academic programs with the help of South Korea."
Minister further informed that the state government has constituted two committees to better the standards of primary and higher education in the state. School Education Regulation Committee will be headed by Justice R Kantarao, Higher Education Regulation Committee will be headed by Justice V Eswaraiah. These committees will have full powers in regulating fees, monitoring standards and other matters. These committees will be made commissions after the cancellation of existing Admission and Fee Regulatory Committees (AFRCs). The state government has already constituted a committee on reforms in the education sector. That committee will submit its report soon, it will, in turn, be handed over to the new committees; the minister said.
The delegation, which will tour the state for three days, held talks with the minister on the development of skills and other related issues in the education sector and explored the possibilities of mutual cooperation in education, IT, Agriculture, fisheries, horticulture and Industrial sectors. The Korean delegation will be touring for three days in the state.
The Korean delegation also met Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, Minister for Industries M Goutham Reddy and APIIC Chairperson RK Roja and others.
