The High Court Of Andhra Pradesh has questioned the government on the conduction of Panchayath elections in the state. The court has given notices to the election commission and Panchayat secretary. The panchayat election was held in 2013 in the united Andhra Pradesh and competed it term on August 2, 2018. On this issue, the petition was filed in the high court in the last December. However, the TDP government has not looked into the matter due to the assembly elections in the state.

Since the new government headed by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the high court investigated the issue and served notices to the Election Commission. On the other hand, YSRCP government has decided to start new gram Panchayats on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi on October 2 and the new recruitment is going on for the ward members and other posts in Grama Sachivalayam.

It remains to be seen how the election commission and Panchayat department respond to the notices and when the elections would be scheduled. It seems to have appeared that the YSRCP government would go for the panchayat elections once the Gram Sachivalayam Recruitment come to one conclusion.
