Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh police who have seized the vehicles during the lockdown period are currently releasing and handing them over to the owners.

According to information, the police have seized 74,565 vehicles in the State and by Tuesday they released 52,628 vehicles and 21,937 vehicles are yet to be handed over to the owners.

The police have released 46,893 two wheelers, 3,819 three-wheelers, 1585 four wheelers and 331 other vehicles.

Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy issued the orders to the police department to release the vehicles without collecting penalty. The police are verifying the documents before releasing the vehicles and asking the law violators to co-operate with the police in future. The State police are appealing to the vehicles owners to take their vehicles as early as possible.
