Tension prevails in Tadipatri of Anantapur district after JC Diwakar brothers on Monday announced a protest in front of the tehsildar's office in Tadipatri over the abuse of the SC and ST Atrocities Act. In this backdrop, police placed the JC brothers under house arrest in the wake of this. JC Diwakar Reddy was detained at his farm in Jutur and Prabhakar Reddy at his home in Tadipatri. Huge security was made in the town. Police, on the other hand, said there is no permission for protest and said that section 144 and 30 were in force in Tadipatri. Police were heavily deployed near the house of JC Prabhakar Reddy and MLA Peddareddy.

Police have registered SC and ST attempted murder cases against former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy and his son in connection with the stoning of TDP and YCP leaders in Tadipatri on December 24. In protest against the police action, the JC brothers laid wreaths at the Ambedkar statue and prepared to observe silence at the tehsildar's office. Former MLA JC Prabhakar Reddy questioned what are these restrictions were for a peaceful protest against the abuse of the SC and ST Atrocities Act.

He questioned the police officers as to what was the point of heavily deploying the police for against the protests. "Concerned that his health would be damaged due to the corona, his brother, former MP JC Diwakar Reddy would join the protest in support of him," Prabhakar Reddy said.
