Vijayawada: APSRTC Managing Director and Vice-Chairman Madireddy Pratap said on Thursday that the APSRTC would operate 2,550 special bus services for Maha Sivaratri.

Speaking to the media at the RTC house here, he said the bus service would cover 87 Siva temples across the State. Of the total 2,550 special services, the highest number of 423 services would be operated to Kotappa Konda temple in Guntur district. The second highest number 300 buses would be operated to Sri Sailam temple in Kurnool district.

He said the RTC will collect 50 per cent extra fare as usual this festival season. It is the common practice that the RTC would collect 50 per cent extra fare during the festivals season. Referring to the hike of bus fares two months ago, the MD said the RTC decided to collect the old fare from the passengers during this Sivarathri season. Pratap has appealed to the passengers to avail the facility extended by the RTC.
