Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani has said the government has been giving top priority to welfare of BCs in the state. A large number of BCs from across the district came here to meet Nani on Wednesday. He received representations from them on various problems.

Speaking on the occasion, Nani said that the government had allocated Rs 15,000 crore for BC welfare fund in the budget. The amount was higher when compared with allocations by previous governments. The government would specifically spend the allocation for the welfare of BCs.

Nani alleged that the erstwhile TDP government had allocated Rs 7,000 crore for BCs in its budget and failed to spend even Rs 4,000 crore for them. Nani announced that the government would establish 189 different corporations to ensure economic development of all poor and weaker sections in society.
