Computer Science Engineering students of SRKR Engineering College here raised Rs 14 lakh by forming a group ‘Helping Hands CSE’ to help their classmate Dharavat Sriram Naik, who has been ailing with cancer.
Bhimavaram : Computer Science Engineering students of SRKR Engineering College here raised Rs 14 lakh by forming a group ‘Helping Hands CSE’ to help their classmate Dharavat Sriram Naik, who has been ailing with cancer.
The funds were handed over to the parents of Sriram, CSE second year student, through acting principal Dr KV Muralikrishnam Raju at the college here on Thursday.
Complimenting the students for their gesture to help the ailing classmate, the acting principal said hundreds of students under the guidance of CSE Head of Department Dr V Chandrasekhar raised Rs 14 lakh within a short span of one month, for the treatment of their classmate.
Dr Chandrasekhar said both staff and students voluntarily came forward to raise the necessary funds and everyone has been eagerly waiting for Sriram Naik to recover and return to good health.
Sriram Naik’s parents thanked the acting principal and Dr V Chandrasekhar, faculty and students for their kind gesture.
