BJP to launch stir against YSRCP misrule
State BJP will stage protests against the anti-people policies of the YSRCP government across the state besides conducting a campaign to explain the significance of abrogation of Article 370 to people at grassroot level.

BJP state executive committee which met here on Sunday took these two decisions as part of its strategy to strengthen itself in the state so as to become a a strong contender by the next elections. AP BJP in-charge Sunil Deodhar, president Kanna Lakshminarayana, MPs G V L Narasimha Rao, Y Sujana Chowdary, C M Ramesh, senior leaders K Hari Babu, G Manikyala Rao, S Veerraju and several leaders attended the meeting.
Lakshminarayana said wrong decisions and poor administration was plaguing Andhra Pradesh under Jagan Mohan Reddy rule. Revealing the details of the party office-bearers meeting here, he said the decisions like removal of fair price shops, closure of Anna Canteens and retrenching several existing government employees did not go down well with people and maladministration at the grassroots level has proved that the state was pursuing a direction-less rule. The drought of Rayalaseema has also has not been addressed, he added.
"We wanted to give six months time to YSRCP government before criticising them for their follies but we have decided against it. The two-month rule has proved that Andhra Pradesh is going backwards," he said.
He said the harassment of opposition political workers and leaders increased in villages soon after YSRCP assumed power. He said the sand scarcity has severely hit the real estate sector and several building workers were on the roads for want to work. "Workers have become debt-ridden owing to a halt in construction activity in the state because of the scarcity of sand," he said.
He said BJP is all set to stage a massive dharna at Gurazala in Guntur district on August 16 against the anti-people policies of the YSRCP government. "But Section 144 is in vogue thorough out the country owing to Article 370 scrapping. We will make a decision soon as to how to go ahead," he added.
Lakshminarayana said the resounding victory of Modi and his team in 2019 elections ushered in a new hop among people and his bold steps that were taken in the interest of the nation went down well with people. "Passing of crucial bills like Triple Talaq, scrapping of Article 370 and others were widely appreciated by people," he claimed.
The state BJP chief said the membership drive which began on July 5 will be extended up to August 20 and it will be the responsibility the cadres to go to the grassroots level to highlight the importance of scrapping Article 370 by the Modi government.
