Visakhapatnam: The employees and officials of various departments, who are attending the poll duties are not utilising their right to vote even through postal ballot.

The district administration is deploying thousands of employees for the election duties in the general elections.

During the present elections, the district administration deployed over 30,000 employees and officials for the special duties.

In 2014 general elections also, similar number of election staff were deployed. However, 8,500 employees and officials only utilised the postal ballot.

Observing the poor percentage of postal ballot, Collector and Election Returning Officer K Bhaskar in a meeting asked the electioneering staff to utilise the postal ballot.

The collector explained the procedure of the postal ballot to the election staff. He said that one should take the form-12, which would be available at RTC, Police and Superintendent of Police offices from March 17 to 20 to utilise the postal ballot, he added.
