Eluru: West Godavari District Collector R Muthyala Raju has expressed dissatisfaction over poor progress of YSR Kanti Velugu programme in the district.
Reviewing the scheme with officials on Wednesday night through videoconference, he said though the first phase was passed off satisfactorily, the second phase was progressing on a sluggish pace.
As against the 7,000 students supposed to be covered under the programme in 10 days, only 4,000 students were covered, he lamented. He told the officials concerned to take appropriate steps and ensure that many people regain their vision.
The District Collector asked the officials of Education and Medical and Health department to evolve an action plan for the execution of the programme by convening a videoconference among themselves.
