Complete all pending irrigation works: Ministers Anil Kumar, Botcha Satyanarayana
Funds will be released to complete Thotapalli, Tarakarama and Janjhavathi projects
Vizianagaram: The irrigation projects in the district, Thotapalli, Janjhavathi and Tarakarama Teerthasagar will be sanctioned enough funds to complete all pending works. Funds will be spent for land acquisition works of Thotapalli project and to complete the long pending demand of Tarakarama Teerthasagar also.
Minister for Water Resources M Anil Kumar and Minister for Municipal Administration Botcha Satyanarayana on Wednesday conducted a review meeting over the progress of various water projects at Amaravati and instructed the officials concerned to take necessary steps to complete the works.
They asked the revenue officials to acquire 120 acres of land to dig a channel for Tarakarama project at Nellimarla in the district. The ministers directed the irrigation officials to take steps to complete the right channel works of Thotapalli to give water to irrigation crops in Gajapathinagaram area. They also asked the officials to complete the Janjhavathi works on war footing basis.
Joint Collector M Venkata Ramana Reddy, J Adityanath Das, special chief secretary for water resources also participated in the review meeting.
