Contract lecturers meet Education Commissioner

Vijayawada: The members of Andhra Pradesh Contract Lecturers Association (APCLA) met Commissioner, Department of Education, V Ramakrishna and submitted a representation urging him to solve their problems.
The APCLA president, B J Gandhi said that the Commissioner responded positively and assured that the salaries would be disbursed by the first of every month. The retirement age for the APCLA lecturers will be extended to 60 years from 58 years.
When asked to provide vocational spot valuation at Vijayawada, the Commissioner told that he would look into the matter and further assured that he would look into the matter of ex-gratia for lecturers who died while discharging duties.
