Kadapa: Deputy Chief Minister Amzath Basha said that state government has been striving for welfare of the people by implementing several schemes and development projects.

He laid foundation for drinking water project under Amrut scheme phase-2 at Akkayapalle area in Kadapa city on Saturday. The project will be constructed at a cost of Rs 67.73 crore and with storage capacity of 18 lakh litres. He said that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy is striving hard with the aim to transform the state as Arogya Andhra Pradesh.

Government is concentrating to address the problems like drinking water, sanitation, drainage, flood waters, collecting garbage etc by spending funds in a big way, he said. The Deputy Chief Minister said about 30,000 people in city would get drinking water after completion of the project. Meanwhile Proddaturu MLA R Siva Prasad Reddy laid foundation stone for construction Rs 150 crore worth drinking water scheme in Proddaturu on Saturday. This scheme also will be taken up under Amruth Scheme phase-2. Drinking water will be supplied for Proddatur by constructing pipeline from Mylavaram reservoir to Rameswaram Head water works. Proddaturu Municipal Commissioner Radha Reddy, YSR Congress leaders were present.
