TDP is having Kovur, Udayagiri and Nellore rural seats and the rest were bagged by the YSRCP in 2014 elections. Gudur is having typical situation where the opposition MLA joined the ruling party and there would be no difficulty. Polamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy is legislator of Kovur and there has been demand from senior leader Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy to consider him this time. There were Ch Venkateswara Reddy, Y Govardhan Reddy and others, who are also expecting ticket.
Rumours are doing rounds that the Chief Minister had denied ticket to Pellakuru Srinivasulu Reddy and he is discussing with his followers on the future course of action. In Kovur, the TDP to face tough competition this time because of internal problems. In Venkatagiri, where ruling party MLA had won in last two elections, is now getting ready to contest for the third time.
He has strong hold in the constituency and the party is also likely to continue him this time too. The YSRCP will be declaring former Minister Anam Ramanarayana Reddy as their candidate and there would be tough fight this time. Nellore Rural is crucial constituency where the party finalised candidature of former Minister Adala Prabhakar Reddy. Anam Jayakumar Reddy was expecting the seat, but the party suddenly considered Adala which made him disheartened. Though the party sources said he was assured some nominated post or MLC, still he is unhappy.
