Ongole: The Prakasam District Fencing Association announced that eight players from the Prakasam district have been selected for the 4th child and 10th mini-national level championship, scheduled during this month.

Andhra Pradesh Fencing Association president V Nageswara Rao said that the players who received medals in the individual categories at the state-level championship, held in Dhone, Kurnool district recently were selected for the national championship.

He said that K Sahishnu and Shaikh Asifa were selected in the under the 12-foil category while Shaikh Adil, Neshwik Reddy, Shaikh Najifa and P Saranya Kritika were selected in the under 10-foil category and P Dayaneswari, D Pranamya are selected in the under 1- sabre category.

He added that these players would participate in the 4th child and 10th mini-National Level Championship scheduled to be held from August 6 to 8 at Divisional Sports Complex in Panchavati of Nashik in Maharashtra.

The Prakasam District Fencing Association President Balisetty Nageswara Rao congratulated the players and coaches R Naga Chiranjeevi, B Bharat and R Vijayalakshmi and appreciated the players for getting selected for the national championship.
