Kurnool: Superintendent of Police, Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli has advised the flood affected villagers to be alert and suggested them not to cross streams and rivulets. He visited the flood affected villages in Nandyal constituency on Tuesday.

Speaking to media persons, Dr Fakkeerappa said that nine mandals in Nandyal revenue division were severely affected with the flash floods. Villagers of all mandals need to be vigilant and they should not try to cross flooded roads.

He advised the officials of all departments to involve in rescue operations, by taking the assistance of police department. He has also suggested utilising the services of boats and compulsory wearing life jackets. He said a command control room has been set up at Nandyal and urged the villagers to call 08514-243094 or dial 100 for police assistance.

He advised the villagers of Nandyal, Mahanandi, Allagadda, Chagalamarri, Rudravaram, Sirivella, Gospadu and Kovelakuntla not to cross streams, rivulets and lakes.
