Guntur: Former Deputy Speaker of Assembly Mandali Buddha Prasad said that Jnanpith Award recipient, poet, writer and novelist Dr Ravuri Bharadwaja is proud to Telugus because he is one among the three Telugus who received Jnanpith Award.

He unveiled Ravuri Bharadwaja statue at SVV High School premises in Tadikonda along with MLC Dokka Manikya Vara Prasad, MLA Undavalli Sridevi, former MLC Dr Rayapati Srinivas here on Thursday.

Speaking on the occasion, Mandali Buddha Prasad said that Ravuri Bharadwaja analysed the lives of farmers, artists and poor people through his literature and lit lamps in their lives.

MLA Undavalli Sridevi urged the youth to draw inspiration from Ravuri Bharadwaja and stressed on need to keep his writings in the libraries within the reach of people.
