Eluru: Deputy Chief Minister Alla Nani launched Jagananna Vasathi Deevena scheme at a programme held at St Theresa Women's College here on Monday. Speaking on the occasion, he said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy introduced the scheme for the benefit of students staying in hostels.
Under the scheme, ITI students will get Rs 10,000, Polytechnic students Rs 15,000 and degree and higher classes students Rs 20,000 per year in two installments during their stay in hostels.
The minister reminded that the state government already introduced schemes like Amma Vodi, Jagananna Vidya Deevena to benefit the poor students pursue their education.
