Even a single vote helps elect good leader: Collector Praveen Kumar

Gopalapuram: "A single vote can do miracles. It will decide fate of the contestants. The single vote helps in electing a good leader in the democracy.

Single vote is crucial in elections. Never ignore it with the misconception that nothing would be going to change when you skip voting," said district Collector Praveen Kumar.

The Collector inspected training classes being imparted to polling staff at Gurukul Girls School in Gopalapuram on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the Collector called upon the voters to exercise their franchise within a peaceful atmosphere without any tension.

He told the polling staff that it will be a great opportunity for them to be part of the polling process. While polling arrangements are one aspect, the conduct of the polling in a peaceful manner is another challenge.

The polling staff should thoroughly go through the manuals and other material given to them and understand every aspect for hassle-free polling, he said.

The Collector inspected strong room in the school and gave instructions to officials on the arrangements necessary.

Returning officer S Karuna Kumari, presiding officers and other staff were present.
