Guntur: Two women suffering with symptoms of the suspected coronavirus were admitted to the Government Fever Hospital here.

The doctors collected blood samples from them and sent to virology lab in Tirupati for verification.

They are undergoing treatment in the isolation ward in the hospital and stated to be out of danger.

According to sources, a 47-year-old woman who returned from Nepal a few days ago was suffering from cold and cough. She was admitted to a private hospital. Due to pneumonia, she is unable to breath. Based on the X-Ray reports and doctors' recommendations, her family members admitted her to the Government Fever Hospital here.

After conducting medical tests, the doctors said she was suffering from suspected coronavirus symptoms and shifted her to the isolation ward in the hospital.

Another woman who is pursuing Ph.D in Acharya Nagarjuna University and recently returned from Vietnam

was admitted in the Government Fever Hospital.

The doctors conducted medical tests on her. They confirmed that she was suffering with the symptoms of coronavirus. The doctors collected blood samples from her also and sent to testing lab in Tirupati.

Addressing a press conference at the Collectorate on Monday, District Collector I Samuel Anand Kumar said so far two patients suffering with the symptoms of suspected coronavirus were admitted to the Government Fever Hospital in Guntur.

He warned that he would not tolerate if the newspapers publish news on coronavirus without official information. He said that he appointed joint collector Dinesh Kumar as nodal officer to give information on coronavirus.

He further said that they had set up isolation wards in the Government Fever Hospital here and Tenali Government Hospital.
