Korukonda: Jana Sena Party's (JSP) Jaggampeta Assembly constituency in-charge Patamsetti Surya Chandra has demanded the government to include Gokavaram mandal in the proposed Rajamahendravaram district.
Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, he said Gokavaram is 30kms from Rajamahendravaram and 70kms from Kakinada. Moreover, the people of Gokavaram mandal daily go to Rajamahendravaram for medical aid, education and business purposes.
JSP will fight with government in this regard as it is a justifiable demand of the people of Gokavaram mandal, he added.
Paddy and horticulture crops damaged on a massive scale in Gokavaram mandal due to incessant rains and asked State government to pay cropcompensation immediately to the hapless farmers.
The farmers are eagerly waiting for government's help and requested Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy to respond immediately in this regard.
JSP leaders D Subba Rao, C Durga Prasad, DS Rao, UD Prasad, K RamaKrishna and A Raju were present.
