Krishna river cleaning drive begins in Vijayawada

The officials have titled the programme as 'Neenu Saitam Krishnamma Suddhi Sevalo' which will be conducted for two days every month.
Under the drive, the waste material and garbage was loaded into the trucks using JCB's and tractors from the riverbed.
During the programme, the Krishna district administration has created an awareness among the locals to keep the river surrounding clean by not dumping waste into it.
Thousands of people including government employees and NGOs have participated in the cleanup drive programme.
