Kurnool: 304 bottles of NDP liquor seized, 29 held

Kurnool: The cops of Special Enforcement Bureau on Wednesday seized huge quantities of non-duty paid liquor (NDPL) besides destroying country made liquor. The authorities, in a press release on Wednesday, stated that during intensive raids conducted across the district, several people were caught illegally transporting the liquor from the adjacent states.
Around 304 bottles of NDPL, 144 litres of country-made liquor and 1,665 gutka sachets were seized. Another 6,770 litres of jaggery wash was destroyed. With regard to illegal transportation of liquor, 29 persons were taken into custody and 27 cases were filed, stated the officials. In addition to liquor and gutka, 36 tonnes of sand was also seized. 11 vehicles (6 for transporting sand and 5 for liquor and gutka) were seized and 11 persons were arrested. The officials have appealed to the people to inform the police about the illegal transportation of liquor, sand and other spurious products.
