Early in the morning, the leaders and activists of the political parties came on to the roads with party flags and obstructed vehicles.
The autorickshaws carrying passengers were stopped and were turned back. Retail shops, commercial establishments, hotels, malls, grocery shops, schools, colleges and others were closed by the activists. Only emergency services like hospitals, clinics and medical shops were allowed to run.
In view of the Bharat Bandh, the authorities of AP State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC) confined the busses to depots. The long distance travelling lorries were also stranded on the roads. With the bandh, almost all roads wore a deserted look in three revenue divisions of Nandyal, Adoni and Kurnool in the district.
Though the bandh was peaceful, in a precautionary measure a large number of police personnel was deployed. The bandh impact was visible from early morning to 3 pm, when activities and other services resumed.
Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president Sake Sailajanath who participated in the Bharat Bandh here addressed the party supports on the occasion. He said that it was not good for the Modi government if the farmers were subjected to suffering. He said Modi's laws would benefit the corporate sector more than the farmers adding that the Congress would always take the side of farmers and fight for their interests.
District Industries Association president Jaradoddi Jayanna speaking on the occasion demanded the NDA government to immediately withdraw the laws or else the government had to face the wrath of the farmers. The farmers were the backbone of India but Modi wants to break the backbone, Jayanna he alleged.
