Kurnool: Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has assured the family members of deceased MLC Challa Ramakrishna Reddy that the government would extend full support to them.

Jagan visited the residence of Ramakrishna Reddy at Owk village in Kurnool district on Wednesday and expressed condolences to the bereaved family members. MLC Challa Ramakrishna Reddy died due to coronavirus at a hospital in Hyderabad on January 1.

The Chief Minister flew in a special plane to Orvakal and from there he took a helicopter to reach Oak. Jagan was received at the airport by Finance Minister Buggana Rajendranath Reddy, Labour Minister Gummanur Jayaram, Kurnool District Collector G Veera Pandiyan and Nandyal Sub-Collector Kalpana Kumari. YSRCP MPs, MLAs and other officials were also present.

On reaching the house of Ramakrishna Reddy, Jagan paid floral tributes to his portrait. Later, he spoke to Sridevi, wife of Ramakrishna Reddy and other family members. The Chief Minister pointed out that in the death of Ramakrishna Reddy, the YSRCP has lost a great leader and no one can replace him.

Jagan asked the bereaved family members to be courageous and overcome the grief. He assured to extend full support to them. After spending about half-an-hour with them, Jagan returned to Gannavaram. In view of the Chief Minister's visit, SP Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli has made strict security arrangements.
