Kurnool: Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) sleuths on Wednesday caught a head constable of Disha Police Station while accepting a bribe amount of Rs 13,000 for tampering with evidence in the case.

Speaking to media here, ACB DSP Janardhan Naidu said that a case was pending against one Jayamohan Reddy, his brother and one more person, who were accused in a case in Disha police station.

The case is being investigated by Investigating Officer Annajappa. The accused Jayamohan Reddy has approached the head constable and requested to do favour in a case. Taking the advantage, the head constable has demanded Rs 13,000 for destruction of evidence. The ACB officials were informed about the agreement between the Investigating Officer (IO) and the accused Jayamohan Reddy, said the DSP.

Based on the information, the ACB sleuths laid a trap and caught the Investigating Officer Annajappa while accepting the bribe amount of Rs.13000 at Raj Vihar centre on Wednesday. The amount was seized and Annajappa was taken into custody. A case under relevant sections was filed and he would be produced in the ACB court on Thursday, Janardhan Naidu said.
