Large appliances sales increases in festive season in Visakhapatnam

Visakhapatnam: Director of Large Appliances and Furniture segment, Amazon Suchit Subhas on Wednesday said that large appliances segment is the fastest growing category registering a growth of more than 1.5 times each year.

At a conference held here, Subhas said large appliances segment was growing faster in Andhra Pradesh and smaller towns. "Customer needs a wide range of choice to select from. Our online platform has the largest selection to pick up from a list of 2,500 large appliances products," he shared.

Selection is one of the key points that the e-commerce firm focuses on, Suchit said. "This apart, features such as speedy delivery, scheduled slot available for fast delivery within a day or two, open-box delivery for damage-free products, installation, EMI schemes with 0 per cent interest (one out of two were sold through EMI), exchange programme, affordable range of products that can range anywhere from Rs 5,000 to a lakh that led to remarkable growth in the large appliances segment which picks up during the ensuing festival season," he stated.

Besides bigger cities, Suchit observed that orders in terms of purchase of large appliances were more in smaller towns such as Eluru and Tirupati. "In Visakhapatnam, more orders are being placed from Aganampudi, Gajuwaka, among other neighbourhoods," he added.

For the ensuing festive season, he informed that 1,000 products were added to the list with voice feature, among other add-ons.
