Tirupati: To ensure maintenance of law and order in temple city for Vinaya Chaturthi celebrations, Tirupati Urban police have imposed few restrictions on pandal organisers.

Urban SP KKN Anburajan directed all DSPs to keep round-the-clock surveillance on Ganesh pandals till the conclusion of immersion. He informed representatives of the Varasiddhi Vinayaka Utsava Committee to coordinate with pandal organisers for following police guidelines.

The SP told organisers to get written permission from DSP concerned for installation of pandals without obstructing traffic flow. Besides, pandals should maintain less audio in loudspeakers.

On Saturday, Urban SP and MCT Commissioner PS Girisha held a review meeting with Varasiddhi Vinayaka Utsava Committee and pandal organisers for smooth conduct of idol immersion. The police released the route map dividing city into seven routes for taking idols in a procession for immersion.

The MCT is readying Vinayaka Sagar tank for immersion of idols on the outskirts of Tirupati city. The civic body's Engineering wing clearing silt in the tank and erecting barricades on the tank bund. Also, installing the floodlights.
