Mobile App on breast feeding launched: Vellampalli Srinivas
Minister for Endowments Vellampalli Srinivas said that breast feeding was the elixir of life.
Vijayawada: Minister for Endowments Vellampalli Srinivas said that breast feeding was the elixir of life. Every infant should be given breast feeding which was good for the neo-natal and for lactating mothers, he added.
The Minister was participating as the chief guest at the programme to mark the 'Breast Feeding Week' organised by Indian Academy of Pediatrics Association (IAP), Krishna district here on Thursday. IAP has been organising an awareness programme on breast feeding every year during the first week of August.
The Minister launched a Mobile-App developed under the aegis of Indian Academy of Pediatrics Association to create awareness on the benefits and importance of breast feeding.
Later, the minister flagged off a walkathon from Indian Medical Association Hall to Old Government General Hospital. About 400 people including doctors, nursing staff from various hospitals and Anganvadi workers participated in the walkathon to create awareness on Breast Feeding.
Central MLA Malladi Vishnu, Dr KVS Saiprasad, IAP president, Dr S Ramprasad, secretary, Dr PV Rama Rao, Dr MA Rehman, Dr P Durgaprasad, Dr N Suryanarayana, Dr V Sridevi, Dr Srimukhi and others were present.
