He inspected the ongoing works at the Ongole railway station along with the ADRM Sumana, DCM Bhaskar, Divisional Engineer Sanjeev Kumar and other railway officials on Thursday.

The MP said that there are some waterlogged areas in the railway station causing inconvenience to the passengers. He ordered the railway officials and municipal authorities to take necessary action to keep the place clean and tidy.

He suggested the railway officials to try to paint the walls of the railway station with beautiful portraits and sceneries and asked the municipal officials to provide drinking water to the passengers and see there are no leakages to the pipelines. He said that the officials will take measures to install a lift on the first platform and provide space for Andhra Bank to erect an ATM on the premises.

He said that the government has sanctioned the third railway line between Vijayawada and Guntur and he said that necessary instructions are given to the officials about constructing the 4 and5 platforms at Ongole.

He said that he ordered the officials to set up a ticket counter on the eastern side, construct a railway-over-bridge and approach road to the station from the east side. He said that the railway authorities already have taken the initiative to erect a 100-meter long pole and let a 30x20 national flag fly on it.

He advised the officials to see the toilets in the station are working always with running water and to construct a mini-park on the station premises for the children. He assured that the stoppages requests for Jodhpur and Kerala expresses will be taken to the railway minister to persuade him for a favourable decision.

ADRM Sumana assured that the railway authorities follow the instructions of the MP and announced that the lift will be installed soon along with the ongoing development works. LDM MV Sudhakar, Andhra Bank AGM Simhachalam, OMC Commissioner P Niranjan Reddy and others accompanied the MP.
