On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, EEE Department of MVGR College of Engineering, in collaboration with IIT Bombay, conducted a one-day workshop entitled ‘STUDENT SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP-2019” to educate youth about the consequences of climate change and the benefits of solar energy.

Visakhapatnam: On the occasion of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, EEE Department of MVGR College of Engineering, in collaboration with IIT Bombay, conducted a one-day workshop entitled 'STUDENT SOLAR AMBASSADOR WORKSHOP-2019" to educate youth about the consequences of climate change and the benefits of solar energy. In this workshop, as many as 75 students were trained in making solar lamps using various discrete components.

On this occasion, Dr K V L Raju, principal of MVGR College of Engineering, addressing the gathering emphasised importance of moving towards renewable energy in the context of dealing with electrical energy sustainability and climate change and the younger generation, bearing the brunt of the impacts of climate change, should be a major part of this revolution.

The Vice-principal, Dr Y M C Sekhar, Dean Students S Mohan Kumar, Head of the Department Dr Sarat Kumar, Associate Professor K S Ravi Kumar, Assistant Professor P Pavan Kumar, faculty of EEE and course coordinator P Naveen Kumar participated in the event.
