Nellore: Penalties to be imposed for not wearing face masks says Collector M V Seshagiri Babu
District Collector M V Seshagiri Babu stated that people who move on streets without face masks will be penalised with Rs. 200 in urban areas and Rs. 100 in rural areas hereafter
Nellore: District Collector M V Seshagiri Babu stated that people who move on streets without face masks will be penalised with Rs. 200 in urban areas and Rs. 100 in rural areas hereafter.
He addressed media persons in the city on Friday and said there has been a spike of positive cases for the past 10 days in the district.
He said that out of the 382 positive cases reported in the district till now only 23 cases were linked to the district. He also explained that death being reported for every 135 positive cases and one positive case for every 114 samples collected from the persons having Covid-19 symptoms.
He also said that the district administration had created awareness among the people to contain the spread of Covid-19. He suggested to the people who have been suffering from cold, cough, and fever should visit the nearby health centres for a check-up.
He informed that a health officer in the district headquarters was tested positive and his condition has been stable. He said his close contacts were sent to the quarantine centre.
Collector said that they had not given any relaxation in containment restrictions to Sullurpet. District Coordinator of Health Services Dr. L Chennaiah, DM&HO Dr G Rajyalakshmi and others were present.
